Webinar: Alliance M&E Framework and Strategies
Please join us on Wednesday, June 25th at 8:30 AM Eastern US time (12:30 PM UTC/GMT) for a webinar to share the Alliance’s recently developed draft M&E framework and strategy.
The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves is currently moving into a phase of driving investments, innovations, and operations to scale, so a consistent and transparent Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system with global and national M&E strategies is needed. The Alliance therefore commissioned the development of an M&E framework, with indicators to be tracked and global and focus country M&E strategies. Interviews have been held with the Alliance secretariat, with a selection of partner organizations, as well as with others in the household energy and related sectors, and workshops were held in Kenya and Ghana. These consultations were used to refine the approaches proposed and build upon best practice.
The draft framework and strategy is based upon the Alliance’s mission statement, to “…save lives, improve livelihoods, empower women, and preserve the environment by creating a thriving global market for clean and efficient cookstoves and fuels”, and the strategic goal “To foster the adoption of clean cookstoves and fuels in 100 million households by 2020”, and seeks to answer the following key questions:
- What progress has been made towards the Alliance’s strategic goal of “fostering the adoption of clean cookstoves and fuels in 100 million households by 2020”?
- What have been the impacts on health, the environment, livelihoods and women’s empowerment arising both from increased adoption of cleaner stoves and fuels, and from changes in the clean stove value chain?
- To what extent have the activities of the Alliance and its partners contributed to this progress?
The proposed approach includes monitoring of results at three levels: i) the activities of the Alliance secretariat, ii) the contribution of the Alliance partners, and iii) M&E at the global level.
Public consultation is now under way on the approach and your inputs are welcomed.
Join this webinar to learn more about the draft M&E framework and strategies and your role and to provide feedback on the proposals. Representatives from the firm Eco Ltd., who were commissioned to assist with the development of the framework and strategies, will be presenting.
