Webinar: Funding Sustainable Development Goal Impacts – Gold Standard for the Global Goals

Date: Thursday, 9 February, 2017

Time: 14:00 GMT

Register now

“Funding SDG Impacts” will introduce Gold Standard for the Global Goals, a new standard to quantify and verify impacts toward climate security and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Organisations with SDG priorities or commitments will learn how the standard ensures maximum return on impact investment through benefits that include:

  • Climate impacts by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) and deforestation
  • Health benefits
  • Gender equality
  • Poverty alleviation
  • New jobs and economic growth
  • Energy access

The webinar will feature a case study on distribution of clean cooking and heating technologies to demonstrate how a climate and development intervention can deliver multiple SDG impacts and calculate the collective economic value associated with those impacts. Participants will also learn about innovative finance mechanisms that can be used to fund these impacts.

Outcomes of the discussion will be used to input into a research initiative to assess the funding landscape for SDG impacts.

Registration: This webinar is open to corporate sustainability professionals and consultants, development agencies, government ministers, impact investors, or foundations with objectives and commitments to climate security and the Sustainable Development Goals.
