EDP Energy Access Fund – 5th Edition
Overview
EDP believes that the future is electric and renewable and that sustainability can make a difference in the lives of many people who are in remote locations without access to energy.
The 5th edition has an endowment of 1 million euros to invest in sustainable and clean energy projects, which helps to alleviate energy poverty on our planet. Organizations may apply for co-funding from 50.000 euros to 150.000 euros, covering up to 75% of the project costs of non-profit entities and up to 50% of the project costs of for-profit entities.
In this edition, we will support projects that are located in these countries:
- Kenya
- Malawi
- Mozambique
- Nigeria
- Rwanda
Criteria
Non-profit and for-profit organizations can apply. Individuals or groups of persons are not eligible for funding.
Organizations must be legally incorporated and registered for over 2 years.
Projects must address one of these areas of activity:
- Education – lighting, computers, and internet services
- Health – lighting of facilities, laboratories, diagnostic equipment, and refrigeration of vaccines
- Water and Agriculture – water pumping, crop irrigation, and desalinization
- Community – Electrification of homes, community centers, and public lighting
- Business – Energy supply of electricity for machinery and equipment and electric mobility
