TOR: Aligning Clean Cooking and REDD+ Accounting Methodologies
A major barrier to the integration of clean cooking and REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) frameworks is the difference in accounting methodologies used in REDD+ and clean cooking interventions. These differences result in difficulties in ascribing emissions reductions achieved from reduced woodfuel use (or more sustainable production) with REDD+ strategies. Several factors need to be considered when trying to align these methodologies.
The objective of this Terms of Reference (ToR) is to identify the main gaps between clean cooking and REDD+ methodologies, explore options for aligning approaches and make recommendations on next steps to achieve alignment that are both workable and scalable.
