Advocacy & Communications
Cooking over polluting, open fires or inefficient stoves leads to nearly four million deaths each year – more than malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV-AIDS combined. Yet this global crisis has received far less support and attention than these and other development issues.
The Clean Cooking Alliance is a global leader in driving greater awareness, engagement, and support for clean cooking. These efforts take many forms, such as creating global advocacy campaigns and coalitions, engaging international and local champions, hosting major convenings, and sharing critical knowledge. The Alliance is also partnering with the Government of Kenya on the establishment of an International Day for Clean Cooking. These activities are designed to elevate the urgency of clean cooking as a development priority in the pursuit of universal access to clean cooking.
