Let’s Cook Kenya Finalist for World Cookbook Awards

Chef Corps member Susan Kamau has a new cookbook that’s garnering a lot of global attention. The book “Let’s Cook Kenya” has been shortlisted in the Best Authors and Chefs/TV category for the Gourmand World Cookbooks Awards that will held in Beijing, May 19-22, 2014. Kamau’s book is up for competition against nominees from Canada, China, India, Indonesia, Ireland and Turkey for “Best in the World.”

Last year, the Alliance named Kamau as a culinary ambassador in the newly launched Chef Corps.
Susan Kamau has been working with local organizations in Kenya to help educate their members about the health and environmental dangers from the use of open fires and the opportunities offered by clean burning fuel-efficient stoves to dramatically impact the lives of families and reduce environmental degradation.
