Alliance Develops Testing Requirement for Future Pilot and Spark Fund Applicants
Testing can strengthen the clean cooking sector’s ability to evaluate, communicate, and improve performance and quality of cookstoves and fuels. To demonstrate their progress in technology development, the Alliance is encouraging partners to share testing information, including data on stove efficiency, emissions, and safety. These results will be made publically available through the Clean Cooking Catalog and will showcase the sector’s investment in technology innovation, industry standards, and enhanced communication about stove performance. The Catalog can be an effective tool for communicating about stove and fuel performance and will help designers, manufacturers, and enterprises showcase and market their products. Availability of third party testing data in accordance with interim international standards is also a signal to investors of a mature market who often receive conflicting claims about cookstove performance and benefits.
