Catalog of Carbon Offset Projects Launched at Carbon Expo
This year the Alliance and its partners were out in force at Carbon Expo, the world’s leading global event for stakeholders in the carbon market. The Alliance shared a booth with African Clean Energy, the BIX Fund, Envirofit and the FairClimateFund.
At Carbon Expo the Alliance released a catalog of 49 projects with carbon offset for sale to be used as a tool to engage potential new buyers. This catalog offers buyers a brief look into a diverse set carbon projects from the clean cooking sector, their location, scale and scope, estimated number of issued credits available for sale, and unique attributes.
The Alliance also hosted a side event entitled: Strategies to increase access to climate finance to help deliver clean cooking solutions to 100 million households by 2020. At this event the Alliance discussed its strategy to increase voluntary demand for cookstoves carbon offsets and unlock climate finance options available now, as well as advocate for inclusion of cookstoves in the post-2020 climate finance frameworks.
