Alliance Partners with Global Citizen to Promote Clean Cooking

The Alliance has partnered with the advocacy organization Global Citizen, organizers of the Global Citizen Festival, to promote clean cooking and drive engagement around the issue and the Alliance's work. This month, Global Citizen launched the first “journey” or campaign, which focuses on India, where more than 1,000,000 people die each year from cooking smoke.

As part of the journey, a custom web page on the GC site (as seen above) encourages people to tweet their support for Prime Minister Modi’s plans to connect 50 million Indian households with clean cooking gas, while encouraging Modi to ensure people use their new stoves.  Already, thousands of people have tweeted, and we encourage you to do the same.
