Clean Cooking Activities
Construction and testing of Institutional and household cookstoves. Next the centre is going to have acquire a testing laboratory for quality control and research for the sub region. We are also going run a training workshop on household energy and water management for Queen Mothers in one of the regions in Ghana. This is going to spread across the country as well.
Our Laboratory is both practical and theory, making it a place for spin-off of enterprise development and technology development. Over the past three months we have developed and complete research into fecal sludge converted to charcoal and other energy sources, built institutional cookstoves(IC) and hope to transfer three to stove to women and agro-food processing industries heavily depend on thermal energy (fuelwood) as the main energy source. These cookstoves use 90% LESS fuelwood as compared with health implicated traditional labourous, ® tripod and so called improved cookstoves on the markets. In addition and based on the rocket stove design, we have developed a health improved, ® an energy efficiency bread ovens. The most exciting of the designs is the diagonal fuelwood magazine that removes the bending of waist to stoke the fuelwood every five minutes. This new design allows the fuelwood to drop on its own weight gradually allow constant energy flow without fluctuations. This new fuel magazine mechanism cam be adjusted to regulate the flow of fuelwood into the fire chamber. Both the IC and household cookstove can be ran on palm kernel waste, LPG gas and any biomass including pellets of invasive plant species etc.
Our target cut across the spectrum of users mainly women and all institutions. We intend to develop a value chain base on social entrepreneurship approach or theory using the existing informal industrial/market dynamics to achieve an output of 100million target set by Global Alliance.
Partnership
Our organisation is well vested on research, technology development, adaptation and adoption techniques as well as transfer.
