HAP-COVID-19 Research Workshop Key Takeaways
On August 18-19, 2020, the Alliance convened more than 60 experts in the fields of household air pollution, epidemiology, immunology, virology, infectious disease, and other relevant fields for a virtual workshop. This 2-day workshop explored key research questions such as:
- Does HAP exposure affect the course of COVID-19 disease (e.g., disease severity, mortality)?
- Does HAP exposure play a role in infection risk for COVID-19?
- How has COVID-19 impacted access to and the use of clean cooking, and what is the subsequent impact on HAP exposure and related human health outcomes?
