Abbarci Petroleum Marketing Company Limited aims to improve accessibility and availability of LPG to urban, rural and peri-urban communities in Uganda. The main services offered at its product distribution points will be LPG sales and delivery.Abbarci LPG Affordable Option – Pay-As-You-Cook which intends to offer the Ugandan market its household LPG kit (12kg gas cylinder, 2 burners cooker, hose pipe and smart meter) for home cooking through an innovative smart metering and pay-as-you-cook technology making it affordable to low income households.
For a small deposit a household would receive the kit mentioned above. The smart meter would allow customers to use the cooker on a pay-as-you-cook basis making payments via their mobile phone. This innovation allows low income earners to use LPG without paying the large sum for purchase that has previously made it unaffordable.
The reason Abbarci will be able to keep its prices affordable is that it owns and controls its full chain from storing the gas at their depot, refilling the cylinder and delivering the cylinder to the doorstep of the household.
