Clean Cooking Activities

We've developed an innovative, pro-BoP business model for sales and marketing of clean cookstoves to low-income households. A clean cookstove is sold on credit to a household without the latter depositing any down payment to the company. Then the household is encouraged to only spend half of what it was spending on charcoal daily, bi-weekly or monthly and deposit the rest into our bank or mobile money account or to our sales agent for 4 months. Our agreement with the household is that the deposited amount would be considered as a gradual payment for the eventual purchase of clean cookstove, only if the purchased quantity of charcoal meets or addresses the daily, bi-weekly or monthly cooking needs of the household, and in case it doesn’t, the household would return the clean cookstove to us and we’d give back the deposited cash to them.

Partnership

We've established DRC's largest, most reliable, youth-driven network for the distribution of clean energy products by harnessing youth’s talents and energy; leveraging digital technologies; and building global partnerships across clean energy industry's value chain. We aim to use this network to distribute 200,000 clean cookstoves to BoP households by 2020 in the DRC.
