Clean Cooking Activities

AIREC seeks to integrate the opinions and preferences of the users into the decision-making processes and incentives for clean cooking energy. AIREC with support from the RE component of the IndoGerman Energy Programme—is developing a decision-support tool to evaluate clean cooking energy solutions. The tool, which is technology- and fuel-neutral, is based on an understanding of what users expect from their cooking energy systems. The criteria that are most important to the users must feature prominently in the selection of technology, fuel, design, and dissemination mechanism for cooking energy services delivery.

Partnership

The Ashden India Renewable Energy Collective (AIREC) is a network of India-based winners of the prestigious Ashden Awards. AIREC constitutes a pan-India, technology-agnostic network sensitive to the energy and development needs of poor communities. Several individual members of AIREC are also GACC partners. While the members are mostly project implementers, AIREC represents their collective voice particular in the context of RE policy (which includes policy issues related to clean cooking energy solutions) at national and international level. We believe that our alignment with the goals of GACC will help us contribute constructively to the ever-evolving discussions on best intervention strategies and best practices for widespread dissemination of clean cooking technologies.
