Clean Cooking Activities

RENEWABLE AND GREEN ENERGY SECTOR
AGVSS as part of their Holistic Rural Development Project with the support of HDFC Bank Ltd had distributed smokeless chulhas in the village with the aim to reduce drudgery and securing the health of women folks from the project area. The women from the village were given demonstration on how to operate the smokeless chulhas.

A. Quantitative outcomes

• Total 195 Smokeless chulhas distributed in project villages
• 100% beneficiaries are using smokeless chulhas
• Reduction of drudgery of women to the extent of 30% from collecting fire woods
• Reduction in pollution to the extent of 10%





B. Qualitative outcomes

• The women beneficiaries have been relieved from smoke fumes causing respiratory hazards
• The environment (trees) could be protected
• Health status of women, children and family members of beneficiaries have improves
• Less expenditure on medicines for ailments relating to respiratory, lungs and eyes

Solar Street lamps

A. Quantitative outcomes

• Total 74 street lamps have been installed at conspicuous places in the village streets
• All project villages illuminated and light available for 12 hours

B. Qualitative outcomes

• The villages have been lightened up and darkness have been evaded
• The women and children no longer fear to go outside their houses after evening hours
• Decrease in cases of serpent bite from the project villages
