Clean Cooking Activities
Similarly to the Safe Access to Fuel Energy (SAFE) initiative in the Oruchinga settlement, our current initiative is to build a plant producing biomass briquettes (a sustainable charcoal alternative) to supply cooking fuel to refugees within the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Rwamwanja camp in southwestern Uganda.
Bakulu Power would like to participate in a partnership with Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves by sharing research from our production plant. We hope that our model can help other producers learn to scale up. We also hope to meet other partners that could bring more layers to our project and access grant funding.
