Clean Cooking Activities
The main role of the BEDS is to communicate with the local communities and collect the data about the adverse impact of their present cooking system and how to reduce these adverse impacts and introduce the clean cookstoves and to distribute and monitor according the guidelines of the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves.
Partnership
Our main theme is to improve the cookstove of Sundarbans coastal communities and Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves are focusing this similar things so we can work together in the coastal region of Bangladesh. Sundarbans Mangrove flagship ecosystem is the natural safeguard and livelihood support for most climate vulnerable coastal communities of Bangladesh. Globally, the Sundarbans' story is of great significance because it is not only a unique forested region but also home to over four and a half million human population, and thus there are a host of development issues. Most of the poor Sundarbans coastal families are dependent on mangrove seed, trees, branches/twigs for their cooking fuel so every day, every mangrove fruit season they collected mangrove seed, branches/twigs for their firewood, this unsustainable practice is very much harmful for Sundarbans regeneration process.
