Clean Cooking Activities
In Uganda 85% of the population use wood fuel as an energy source for cooking and only about 0.5% have access to modern fuel for cooking (Electricity, Gas or Kerosene) and 6% use energy efficient cook stoves. This puts a big proportion of the population exposed to health risks as a result of inhaling fumes as they use charcoal and wood. BEL produces and distributes energy efficient cook stoves at a relatively low price. We are confident that our energy efficient stoves save up to 60% of energy that would have otherwise been lost through use of open fire cooking and ordinary charcoal stoves.
Partnership
Bold Energy is committed to joining this partnership to advance behavioural change and especially reach out to rural communities that are heavily dependent on firewood. with the switch to clean and efficient cook stoves, many trees will be saved. Bold Energy joins to network to bring in expertise in community organising, marketing and communications as well as manufacture of cook stoves.
