Mission

Caregivers Christian Ministry International, a Faith Based Not For Profit Organization is promoting the adoption of clean cooking solutions in urban and rural communities in Nigeria. Under the Climate Solutions Initiative of the ministry; to help households in Nigeria to shift from the use of inefficient, unhealthy and unsafe open fires and traditional cookstoves to the use of clean cookstoves. The adoption of clean cooking solutions will help in reducing indoor air pollution and save over 95,000 annual deaths of women and children in Nigeria.

Clean Cooking Activities

Under the climate solutions initiative of the Caregivers Christian Ministry International, the organization is promoting the adoption of clean cooking solutions through the Caregivers Clean Cooking Solutions Scheme - a monthly intervention mission to reduce indoor air pollution and save over 95,000 annual deaths of women and children in Nigeria. The scheme includes climate dialogue, education on clean and safe cooking, income opportunities, demonstration exercise and the distribution of clean cookstoves to rural and urban women at no cost to the beneficiaries.

Partnership

In promoting the adoption of clean cooking solutions in urban and rural communities in Nigeria, Caregivers Christian Ministry International as a partner with the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, will contribute our experiences, knowledge, information sharing and skills acquired during the implementation projects in our communities. With a membership of over 3,000, we will also partner to build on capacity and advocacy on climate change and clean cooking solutions, as well as policies formulation.
Within the next 4 years, we will empower our women, create income opportunities for the poor, and reduce environmental impacts as well as create direct employment in collaboration with our stakeholders, with major positive improvement and impact on the lives and health of more than 30 million Nigerians. And fully support the Alliance’s mission and contribute to its goal of 100 million households adopting clean cookstoves and fuels by 2020.
