Clean Cooking Activities
CCDB Enterprise Ltd. is a subsidiary of Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB). CCDB has been working in clean cooking sector since 2015 in Bangladesh to address the appropriate cooking needs for the rural and urban areas of Bangladesh. In partnership with Institute of Fuel Research & Development of the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), CCDB has designed and developed a state-of-the-art hybrid Improved Cookstove (ICS) with the specific goal to create the most user-friendly, durable and at the same time fuel-efficient improved cookstove for low-income households in Bangladesh. At the core of the stove development process have been women from CCDB’s community-based organizations. They were consulted extensively during the design stage and eventually tested the prototype stoves in their homes over the last 4 years of time. At present CCDB Enterprise is in the process of setting up a countrywide Gold Standard (GS) microscale Programme of Activities (mPoA) carbon program under the certification scheme of Gold Standard for the Global Goals (GS4GG) through the distribution of its newly developed ICS among the beneficiary households of coastal districts of the country. CCDB aims to extend this program to the other districts of the country in the days to come.
Partnership
CCDB Enterprise intends to partner with Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) for technology innovation, exploration and knowledge sharing through this global platform. The parent organization of CCDB Enterprise, Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB) has been working in more than 36 districts of Bangladesh since 1973. CCDB has been a learning organization, focusing on people's needs and aspirations through projects and programs.
