Clean Cooking Activities
Maternal Circulation in relation to Pregnancy Outcomes in Nigeria (MACPON) is an ongoing study aimed at exploring the environmental factors associated with preeclampsia. MACPON, a key project of the Circulatory Health Group hopes to study the additional effects of household in-door air pollution on oxidative stress, micro and macro-circulation of pregnant women and how these intermediate factors impact on the maternal ill-health during pregnancy and the health of the unborn child.
Partnership
Our participation bothers majorly on health research with focus on in-door air pollution and health outcomes. In conjunction with the Department of Economics of our University, we are also poised to develop protocols for carrying out implementation research on the barriers to the use of cook stoves. Through our effective research findings dissemination strategies anchored on seminars and workshops to policy making institutions, we hope to be effective channel for influencing policy targeted at increasing the use of clean stoves in Nigeria.
