Clean Cooking Activities

Currently Community Partners International (CPI) is implementing an improved cookstove program at Rohingya camp in Bangladesh. The purpose of the project is to reduce Indoor Air Pollution, Environmental Degradation and Mitigate Protection Risks. Under the program we are distributing three types of 1200 efficient biomass stoves and solar cookers which are portable and save more than 50% fuel. For organizing social marketing and behavioral change promotional materials development, courtyard meetings, school sessions, cooking competitions have been included. Ten Energy Management Group (EMG) will be formed and each group will consist of 10 members and each group will sit once in a month to share the progress and EMG has been involved with the project from planning process to implement. The orientation training on women empowerment and entrepreneurship will be provided to EMG. Through the training five women ambassadors will be developed. Women ambassadors are coordinating with Energy Management Groups to lead the project. The project is also expected to manufacture improved cookstove and clean fuel within the camp and the women ambassador could be involved in household energy business such as distribution channel or supply chain etc. It is also expected that the project will reduce 2,000 tons of CO2 per year and protect forest degradation and deforestation.

Partnership

Community Partners International (CPI) is implementing an improved cookstove program at Rohingya camp in Bangladesh in collaboration with national NGO named Village Education Resource Center (VERC). Under the project, Ten Energy Management Group (EMG) will be formed and each group will consist of 10 members and each group will sit once in a month to share the progress and EMG has been involved with the project from planning process to implement. CPI is training EMG on different issue to build their capacities.
