Clean Cooking Activities
Our organization already worked with Winrock International, funded by USAID, on field based research work on 05 types of Improved Cooke Stove (ICS-Steel Cage)under Kashipur Union in Barisal Sadar, Barisal, Bangladesh . This programs research activities already completed and now marketing ongoing and another of Improved Cooke Stove (ICS-Concrete) 06 types by Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL), Bangladesh funded by World Bank.
As the evidence base linking improved cooks stoves with improved health and energy
impacts grows, so does attention on how best to influence household uptake and consistent and correct use of stoves. Appropriately, attention focuses on how to improve stoves and make them more affordable and appealing to the neediest consumers. Important work has started, including in South Asia, to identify the “drivers “of cook stove adoption. We will develop a generic marketing and behavior change strategy; suggest a limited number of evidence‐based approaches to increase the uptake of stoves; concept test key elements of these approaches; and develop practical “how‐to” tools to contribute to the goals. This will draw on lessons learned in Bangladesh and other countries in the South Asia region in behavior change, demand creation, and marketing of sanitation, water treatment products, and cook stoves.
