Clean Cooking Activities
Eco-Burn aims to curb the negative environmental and health effects of charcoal use in Kenya by providing alternative cooking solutions that will reduce the over-reliance on charcoal and traditional charcoal stoves as the primary domestic cooking method. We have designed a biomass gasifier cookstove dubbed JikoGaz that is intended to replace the traditional charcoal stoves in homes. Our cookstove uses our biomass briquettes and pellets to burn efficiently with a blue flame and producing virtually no smoke. This therefore makes the cookstove safer to use indoors. Our biomass briquettes and pellets dubbed MoFire are a direct alternative to firewood and charcoal and are produced from residual agricultural waste such as rice husks, pineapple waste and avocado waste.
