Mission

Our mission in sub-Saharan Africa is to reduce the charcoal driven deforestation crisis through the provision of a clean, green, deforestation-free charcoal. Sustainably grown bamboo is combined with clean kiln technology to provide communities and smallholders with a bamboo charcoal that closely replicates that from hardwoods.

By providing a join solution EcoPlanet Bamboo's framework allows for communities and smallholders to become self sufficient in their fuelwood and charcoal needs while contributing to the restoration of degraded and marginal lands. Charcoal goes from causing negative land use change to being a supplemental and positive income for such communities.
