Organization

Energyflex

Mission

Energyflex uses a unique combustion unit (DOE "Energy Innovation" Award), air emission compliant on three continent where systems that use the unit have been built. The unit was designed for small cities, villages, rural areas, and developing countries. When compiled with other Energyflex technologies, unique systems are designed and built for district heating/cooling networks, fuel particle production, and mechanical energy from a single source system that uses forest, agricultural, and urban residues as fuel. A smaller version of the combustion unit has been constructed as a cook stove. Recently, the cook stove has been modified to provide a cooled heat shield(up to 3000 degrees) and limits to the cooking surface. Energyflex has also developed two new machines for the harvesting and processing of both wet and dry residues that can be used with any size of the cook stove.

Organizational Expertise

Climate/Environment, Technology and Fuel R&D, Carbon Finance, Research, Lab or Field Testing

Other Organizational Expertise

Energyflex develops, engineers, and builds small scale heating/cooling/mechanical and electrical systems using alternative fuels for small communities, rural areas, and developing countries.Energyflex has 30 years experience on three continents in the design and development of these alternative energy systems and has worked with IDB, UNDP, World Bank, IEA, Swedish Government, and USFS in technology design and implementation.

Technologies & Fuels

Biomass (Ag. Residue, Processed Biomass, etc.), Pellets / Briquettes

Clean Cooking Activities

The initiative is to identify any potential waste product, design the machinery to process it into a sustainable and clean fuel, and make a community or individual completely energy independent in the range of 5KW to 20MW electric and 20KW to 80MW thermal.

Partnership

I believe that our experience, while working in developing countries, provides greater insight into the problem and the way to achieve a solution. Our other contribution includes consulting, development, engineering, and manufacturing of the solution.
