E4C is a community of engineers, technologists, social scientists, NGOs, governments and community advocates working to improve quality of life in communities through the development of affordable, appropriate and sustainable solutions.

E4C facilitates discovery, development and implementation of appropriate solutions for pressing needs in global communities. Primary roles: champion engineering for global development; build multi-disciplinary networks;develop standards;assist innovators;E4C is founded by a coalition of orgs ASME, IEEE, EWB-USA and supporters ASCE, SWE WFEO. These orgs have global members, core capacity in standards development & thought-leadership in technical communities.

E4C intends to support the development of standards. E4C can identify the appropriate SME's who can provide the rigorous engineering and standards perspective. E4C will also disseminate outcomes of the Cookstoves effort to the broad technical community.
