Clean Cooking Activities
The Solar Station at Universidad Centroamericana is a multidisciplinary center which promotes scientific knowledge and clean technologies use, as well as solar and climatic variables measurements. This center encourages the use of renewable energy sources, particularly solar to solve energy supply in impoverished communities of Nicaragua.
Currently, we are focus on energy efficiency of firewood of dry tropical forest using clean cookstoves and how it can decrease the irrational use of the wood and contribute to the sustainable development and the improvement of women and children health and gender,
Partnership
Our center would like to be part of it due to this space could support to establish partnerships with institutions, organizations and others that are leading research about clean cookstoves and making measurements about the cookers performance.
Furthermore, the knowledge learned could be applied to our country’s reality and it could promote the practice of fuel savings, for this reason we would like to know the best experiences so that they can be replicated in the most vulnerable communities in Nicaragua in which the social service of the University has been involved.
