Clean Cooking Activities

FoST is the only organization where following trainings are provided for empowering the housewives, students, and disabled groups in Nepal: a) solar cooking b) solar cooker building c) solar drying d) solar water pasteurizing/disinfecting e) heat retaining f) briquetting from waste materials without charcoaling process g) stove designing without electrical equipments in rural communities h) mattress weaving training from biomass and plastic wastes. i) reusing e-wastes Target: more and more needy people in rural communities in Nepal and other developing countries. So far we disseminated our technologies in 40 districts in Nepal. We are planning to spread another five districts in 2011. We introduced briquette making from wastes in Afghanistan, Cambodia and India. Demonstrations of our effort were made in about a dozen countries especially on briquette making, solar cooking, water pasteurization and simple stove designing. Scale: All above technologies have a plenty scope of scaling up in the community. We are planning to introduce a cooperative (a) for bridging the funding gaps in briquette and stove producers, (b) for market development of the products, and (c) for creating a forum of users, briquette producers, stoves manufacturer in Nepal.

Partnership

We would like to contribute in the Partnership as follows: a) knowledge sharing b) skill development c) collaborative approach d) exchange program.
