SPRERI is a non profitable organisation established in 1979 at Vallabh Vidyanagar of Gujarat state of India and an autonomous body. The Institute is working on different renewable energy projects funded by Government agencies. It has four major divisions: solar energy, thermo-chemical conversion, bio-conversion and technology transfer division. Under thermo-chemical conversion division, we have developed biomass cook stoves of different capacity which have been approved by MNRE, GoI and out technology transfer division has disseminated them to rural community of Gujarat state under DST core project.
Partnership
FES works with rural communities for promoting energy conservation devices with like-minded organisations such as SPRERI. SPRERI’s technology transfer division, under DST core support programme, has installed different renewable energy gadgets like solar lantern, biomass cook stoves, solid state biogas plants, solar cookers etc. in different villages of Dahod and Vadodara districts of Gujarat state. These villages are scattered and off-grid areas. Aim of the project was to reduce the drudgery of Indian rural women by promoting renewable energy gadgets.
