Clean Cooking Activities

FSDS is the main partner of the Government of Rwanda through MIDIMAR and UNHCR in all Congolese and Burundian refugee camps whereby it is in charge of energy and environmental management sector. All activities that could contribute to reducing firewood for cooking is our priority. These activities like briquettes production, biomass, pellet production, improved cooking stoves production and distribution, tree planting, and biodiversity restoration as well as other alternative renewable energy are the core of our interests. Any expertise, financial support, or technical assistance are welcome.

Partnership

FSDS has already tested some of its innovations mentioned above. The main challenges related to limited funds, lack of tools, and appropriate machines, experienced staff or experts, and sustainable means to produce tools like improved cooking stoves or biomass production to satisfy the needs at the field level. We already have some funds from existing partners and the funds from our new partners will be used in alignment with Project Partnership Agreements that have been endorsed by the parties.
