Clean Cooking Activities
Our Improved Cookstove Projects support the construction and dissemination of improved cooking solutions for rural communities that primarily rely on highly inefficient, traditional cooking methods; most commonly the ‘three-stone fire’. Particularly in rural areas, wood is the most accessible and affordable energy source for remote communities.
The reliance on these unimproved cooking methods and firewood as the only accessible energy source exposes households to hazardous household air pollution, drives deforestation and releases significant carbon emissions.
Our projects offer households subsidised or free clean cooking solutions, which are adapted to meet local customs and contexts. The cookstoves have increased thermal efficiently that greatly reduce wood fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
The distribution of improved cookstoves reduces the dependence of wood fuel, which helps mitigate climate change and promotes additional socio-economic benefits.
The award-winning 'Gold Standard' certification body, set up in 2003 by the WWF certifies only the superior carbon projects, maintaining an internationally renowned benchmark for quality and transparency in certifying climate projects and SDG impacts.
We help others minimise the environmental impact of obligatory functions across all business sectors. With a full end to end consultancy service offering environmental audits, guidance and advice to support sustainable business and best practice, together with a portfolio of verified carbon projects
We support and develop a range of projects across Africa, delivering high quality emission reductions. The success of our projects relies on the participation and empowerment of local communities who we work with closely during all phases of the implementation process, from design through to evaluation. The projects make a direct contribution towards achieving the SDGs, including improving health (SDG 3) and providing safe water (SDG 6), which we measure through regular monitoring and engagement. u
Our team of experts are able to develop bespoke projects based on the needs and objectives of your organisation. We are experienced in managing the delivery of the entire carbon project cycle, from implementation through to issuance. We are also able to provide tailored communication materials, along with detailed impact reports to demonstrate your project’s contribution towards the SDGs.
