Clean Cooking Activities

Contribute to environmental conservation, charcoal production, and firewood collection, coupled with poor forest management accounts for a major part of environmental degradation through its impact on deforestation and watershed destruction.
Reduce health hazards related to cooking devices and cooking fuels cooking with charcoal or firewood presents many health risks to users, mainly women and children, especially when used with poor quality stoves.
Play a crucial role in improving socio-economic status In addition to the health problems associated with current cooking practices
Improve the coordination of the clean cook stove and fuels sector currently, limited clean cook stoves and fuels promoters, manufacturers and distributors exist throughout the country.

Partnership

GDI - Uganda will work to spur a transition to clean cooking for households, which still use inefficient cookstoves and solid fuels for cooking. The Cookstoves Future Summit focused on a new effort to speed up the adoption of clean cooking and end household air pollution from traditional cooking, which takes 4.3 million lives a year in developing countries. The partnership will support in-country programs for clean cookstoves
