Clean Cooking Activities

Good Neighbors Guatemala has worked in the design of two different types of cookstoves that have the purpose of avoiding respiratory diseases by reducing the exposure to carbon monoxide in the smoke, reduce the amount of wood used for cooking and at the same time® improve the efficiency of the cookstove by retaining the heat for a longer time which causes to lower the amount of wood used. Good Neighbors Guatemala has also worked in trials of producing organic carbon which is an alternative for agricultors to use the remainings of the corn crops and avoid the burning of them since they provoke pollution to the environment, the production of this organic carbon provides income to the agricultor's families since it can also be sold.®

Partnership

Good Neighbors Guatemala can help by sharing the experience of having 2 improved cookstove models and the benefits that each one provides to the beneficiary families.
