Mission
Over 600 million Africans lack access to electricity. Great Lakes Power is on a mission to bring green and clean affordable renewable energy and efficient lighting to two million people by 2020 and help eradicate energy poverty. How will we do that? By bringing electricity to millions of people who currently use kerosene lighting and walk far for phone and battery charging. Our plan is to reverse the traditional process of rural electrification while reducing the global carbon footprint.

We need develop new energy solution to contribute to the growth of a sustainable market for off-grid renewable in Rwanda by distributing and installing improved cooking stoves to deliver energy access to the rural communities who rely on firewood which causes deforestation. We must also engage women in this distribution. We would like to balance gender in energy challenges.
Partnership
We would like to participate in this partnership by empowering women to address energy challenges through projects that we are implementing, including an off-grid energy challenge with USADF.
