Clean Cooking Activities
Usage of improved cook stoves (ICS) is probably the quickest and most direct way of saving the tens of millions of lives that are lost annually due to IAP (Indoor Air Pollution). As a responsible social enterprise operating in rural Pakistan, we aim to create a mass awareness program regarding the benefits of ICS with our local partners. We are already working with the World Bank to provide pico solar and solar home system products in rural Pakistan. Our other partners include various stakeholders from the development sector, and a direct network of over 60 distributors. There is a huge missing market for ICS in Pakistan and we aim to exploit this opportunity fully.
Partnership
We have a huge rural footprint in Pakistan, primarily in Punjab and Sindh. With 60+ distributors and over 200 dealers, our parent company Fara Agro (Pvt.) Limited has been selling agricultural machinery and diesel engines for the past 25 years. We want to capitalize on this network, and place a variety of clean cook stoves with them, and prospective retailers.
From our field research and surveys, we expect to sell over 20000 stoves a year in the first 5 years. Currently (as of Dec. 2015) we are already in the final phase of implementing our pilot.
