Mission
The mission and vision of HoA-REC&N are realized through the three partnership programmes. The Climate Resilience Partnership Programme implements projects focusing on climate change adaptation and mitigation, sustainable energy including Clean Development Mechanisms (CDM) and voluntary pro-poor carbon projects. The Social Ecological Resilience Partnership Programme and The Environmental Governance and Education Partnership Programme

HoA-REC&N focuses on environmental concerns and sustainable development options within the Horn of Africa. The Centre is an autonomous institution under Addis Ababa University. It facilitates, strengthens and advocates for initiatives related to land use planning, integrated water resources management, ecosystem management, climate change and energy and value chains for sustainable products and services.

Clean Cooking Activities
The aim of the Sustainable Energy programme is to promote and develop sustainable and locally available fuel alternatives, such as energy from renewable sources and waste-to-energy systems. Through small and large scale projects, the programme investigates alternative options to traditional energy fuels and promotes energy efficient technologies to mitigate against an over dependence on non-renewable and polluting energy sources.

HoAREC&N has wide experience in implementing sustainable energy projects in Ethiopia and rest of horn of Africa countries. that makes it a very efficient partner in implementation of energy projects in the region.
