It functions to support the dynamic needs of the sector, based on broader understanding and interest from the stakeholders. It is not a decisionmaking body for the sector; instead it fosters discussions and sends information/ recommendation/ request to respective Government/ Non-Government Agency/ Development Partner / Implementation Partner members through the HEP Secretariat.
The Household Energy Platform (HEP) is the relevant government entity established to raise relevant issues and speak for the entire cook stove sector in Bangladesh with one unified voice. Its members consist of NGOs, governmental agencies, and private companies who are engaged in the sector. As such, HEP will work in close liaison with GACC. As Bangladesh is an Alliance partner country, it can also play a key role in assisting the Alliance in its goal of ensuring clean cooking environment in the country as well as globally.
