Mission
SCP protects refugee women/girls from attack while collecting firewood by providing solar cookers. With no fire, this reduces wood, reduces air pollution and is the cleanest cooking mode. Women reported less eye/lung ailments from smoke too.

SCP operates in 4 refugee camps (90,000 people) in Chad.Women are trained to solar cook. A team manufactures and repairs cookers.SCP partners with two NGO's Tchad Solaire and CORD.There are 12 Chadian refugee camps and the goal is to solar cook in all 12.
Partnership
We just completed a Best Practices manual and DVD for NGO's interesting in starting Solar Cooker Projects around the world. We also encourage partnership with organizations interested in the promotion of fuel-efficient cooking including solar cooking.
