Clean Cooking Activities

-Kiangure Springs Environment Initiative is working to increase the adoption of clean cook stoves at the Base of the Pyramid.
-We design , produce and distribute cook stoves at the grass root level working with women and youth.
-We have trained cook stove builders and installers who earn income from the enterprise for sustainability.
-The project has created community level awareness and through our Behavior Change Communication(BCC) Strategy in order to Catalyse adoption and the grass root level. We use mural art to sensitize the community on the importance of cook stoves and their relationship to health and climate change.
-We empower women and youth enterprenuers with seed capital to establish viable stove business through product loan .
-The organization is working with County government to develop an Energy Policy .
-We are working with development partners to established an Energy resource center to enhance capacity building at the grass root level.
through our effort over 5000 households have adopted ICS and.
-The organization has established a briquette production center where agricultural residue is turned into biomass briquettes to save wood .

Partnership

Kiangure Springs Environment Initiative will assist the Global Alliance for clean cook stoves in the following ways:
a) Create community level awareness programmes targeting rural households for behavior change and increased adoption.
b)Continue empowering cook stove entrepreneurs for sustained market value chains.
c)Research and develop new stove designs aimed at increased efficiency
d)Share information with GACC and articulate its policies on the grass roots.
d)Participate in all GACC activities locally and internationally.
e)Spread the cook stove campaign to all through our programmes.
We will contribute our effort,time and resources in achieving these objectives and sustain a clean and healthy environment for all.
-the organization with support from GACC and other partners will provide and sustain clean,safe and economic cooking to every household door step in Kenya.
