Clean Cooking Activities
NESELTEC LTD has been in off-grid electrification and clean cookstoves distribution in rural areas of Rwanda. It has been working with underserved communities. The company is also selling LPG in Rwanda where the focus is given to 3, 6 and 15 kg LPG canisters. It is also good to notice that the company develops various biomass projects like briquetting plants and gasification as well as biogas related projects.
Partnership
Clean cooking solutions represent a big business and social impact opportunity globally. Much of the last 20 years of work on clean cooking has been directed to make more efficient solid fuel combustion in small household stoves. Although some progress has been achieved to improve stoves efficiency, health benefits related to avoiding the production of small particles and other pollutants have resulted elusive. It is widely recognized now, that charcoal and wood stoves cannot provide the equivalent health benefits that LPG, Natural Gas or electric stoves do provide. Open fires in kitchens of millions of poor household today have similar effects on health as burning 400 cigarettes an hour.Our contribution in the partnership is to increase penetration of: 1)Clean cookstoves. 2) LPG and cooking appliances. 3) Production and distribution of briquettes.
