The Nigerian Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, inaugurated in May 2011 seeks build a public-private partnership to introduce 10 million fuel-efficient stoves to Nigerian homes and institutions by 2021.

The Nigerian Alliance for Clean Cookstoves is made up of both government and private organizations with knowledge and interest in gender, health, renewable energy, energy, environment, rural development and promoting small businesses.;Every member of the Alliance has contributed in one way or the other to promoting cleaner household cooking fuels and use of biomass in an efficient manner.

Clean Cooking Activities
In Nigeria, about 21 million households depend on traditional biomass energy resulting in 79,000 deaths annually. The Alliance seeks to reduce this by half by 2021 through advocacy for policy change, actual stove projects, financing models and so on.
Partnership
The Nigerian Alliance will advance the cause of the Global Alliance in Nigeria and possibly other Sub-Saharan African countries.
