Project Drawdown
Mission
Project Drawdown’s Drawdown Lift program would serve as the primary point of contact for the Global Resilience Partnership. Drawdown Lift’s mission is to increase knowledge, prioritization, and funding of a subset of Project Drawdown climate mitigation solutions that generate co-benefits for alleviating poverty and enhancing resilience in low- and middle-income countries. This work makes international climate and development goals such as the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals more attainable by addressing poverty, climate adaptation, and climate mitigation synergistically.

Clean Cooking Activities
Project Drawdown’s program Drawdown Lift was launched in 2021 and, in 2022, it published Climate–Poverty Connections: Opportunities for synergistic solutions at the intersection of planetary and human well-being. The first-of-its-kind report provides concrete evidence of how five categories of climate solutions can also be win-win opportunities for meeting development and human well-being needs for rural communities in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
Adopting clean cooking is one of the five categories of climate solutions identified in the report; it found that adopting clean cooking had co-benefits in other dimensions of human well-being such as energy, income and work, health, gender equality, and education. Lift is building on the report’s conclusions - particularly in the clean cooking category - to make the results actionable for leaders in governments, philanthropies, multilateral and bilateral institutions, investors, and NGOs.
Partnership
Lift’s activities line up well with CCA’s pillars of work - particularly around mobilzing investments and fostering enabling environments for clean cooking. We hope to provide actionable research and analysis for CCA’s members at the intersection of clean cooking, climate financing, and policy. We expect to be active participants by attending events and meetings, sharing relevant resources, providing constructive feedback when requested, developing relationships with staff and member organizations as well as being active learners and listeners.
Lift’s policy advisor and/or director may also be available to support agenda setting and preparation for meetings and events when relevant and appropriate. We may also be available to contribute to CCA products and/or provide feedback during drafting stages. At times, Lift may request feedback from CCA and its members on our research and analysis materials. We also expect to generally incorporate perspectives from CCA into our work.
