Clean Cooking Activities
With support from GIZ, RETS has successfully established a biomass laboratory for 2 years, organized trainings in coordination with EPA, AEPC, Aprovecho Research Centre etc.
Now fully focused towards quality testing for cooking stoves with sophisticated emission / efficiency measurement equipments.
Others activities:
12 years of experience in quality testing for Solar PV, battery, lamp, charge controller, Biogas components.
Recently initiated for Solar thermal component testing (solar dryer, solar cooker, Solar water heater etc).
National protocol development for ICS in cooperation with National Organizations.
Partnership
In January 2013, Rt. Honorable Prime Minister of Nepal has made an ambitious announcement to achieve “Clean Cooking Solutions for All by 2017 (CCS 2017)â€, with aims to cover around 3.3 million households, thereby ensuring indoor air pollution free Nepal. Implementation of this initiative will be made through AEPC. Clean cooking solutions covered under NRREP include ICS, biogas and solar cookers, though with much lower targets; however,® ICS is going to be the most predominant and the most suitable technology among all available clean cooking options in the context of CCS 2017.
Being a national organization for quality testing for renewable Energy Products and components, our organization would play a crucial role to control quality of ICS by testing on national standard level and to help donor, NGOs, and INGOs to disseminate quality products.
