Clean Cooking Activities

RUSTICE has due expertise and experiences of successful completion of Improved Cook Stove project with the support from UNDP/GIZ and Khulna City Corporation, Bangladesh. The cookstoves were produced by the organization with locally available materials and technology i.e. brick chips, sand, cement, metal wire and iron chimney. The cook stoves are designed and made especially for disaster affected areas and easily portable and sustainable for this area.
RUSTIC has successfully accomplished the “Recycling of Urban Waste and Produce of Power (RUWPP)” project through establishing Biogas plants in the project area supported by Bangladesh Climate Change Trust Fund, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. With the initiative of biogas plant transforms cow dung, kitchen garbage into usable gas for cooking and organic fertilizer. A household of 5/6 members used the biogas plant for cooking fuel, electric lighting and organic fertilizer for homestead gardening/agriculture. Performance evaluation of Biogas plant and technology was carried out and certified by Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR).
