Clean Cooking Activities
Safi International is a company that manufactures super clean ethanol cookers called ecooker and distributes ethanol fuel. Our products aim to fill a gap that currently exists in the market,which lacks a readily available source of clean household cooking fuel at a competitive price point.
We have set up a franchise system to distribute our products to the end user.
To enable project success we have partnered with local NGOs who have experience in our intended areas of operation and work with them to assist in rolling out the system.
We have also set up a revolving fund (with Funds from DFID) to provide loans to women groups in the slum area of Kibera- Kenya in order to assist them in meeting the upfront cost of acquiring an e-cooker.
Partnership
Safi International wishes to partner with GACC in implementing the clean cook stoves projects in Kenya and Tanzania.
Our goal is to implement 1 million e-cookers by 2020. When this is achieved, we shall have helped GACC in realizing its goal of implementing 100 million clean cook stoves.
We have already established the distribution networks for the roll-out and have already implemented 1,260 e-cookers in Kenya.
