Clean Cooking Activities
As part of our mandate to curtail deforestation in the savanna agro ecological zones of Nigeria, the Station has been making useful research into alternative energy needs for the rural communities within our mandate areas. Production of briquettes for use in clean cookstoves has also been achieved as part of our efforts towards reducing deforestation.
Partnership
As an experienced research institution, we have established several tree plantations and woodlots for farmers and communities within our mandate areas. The Station can assist in the area of identifying useful indigenous tree species that can be used as raw materials for powering clean cookstoves. Our experience in briquette production can also come handy for the purpose of this partnership.
