GBV continues to be a major problem In many conflict settings throughout the Somalia, women continue to experience gender-targeted violence, such as rape, sexual slavery, and a host of other human rights abuses result of the breakdown of community norms which tend to accompany armed conflicts
SSWC Haawotaako GBV crisis centers provides a comprehensive support to survivors of sexual and gender based violence (SGBV) i.e medical,psychosocial counselling and legal aid. SSWC plays a vital role in uplifting the lives of vulnerable women and girls by also providing livelihood component.
SSWC is interested in distributing cooking stoves to the victims of gender-based violence will be a means of livelihood with the ability to escape poverty. It will also reduce the risk rate of women and girls being raped whenever they collect firewood.
Partnership
SSWC would like to be an implementing partner with Global Alliance for clean cookstoves to support vulnerable women and girls in Somalia.SSWC has a direct link with the community therefore it will implement projects as agreed by the partner.
