Clean Cooking Activities
In partnership with other organisations, SNV supports and implements market based domestic biogas programs for clean cooking in 20 countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America. Almost 800,000 bio-digesters have been installed by the end of 2016. Other programs for clean cooking based on biomass are implemented in over 15 countries, resulting in the dissemination of about 370,000 improved stoves and/or fuels by the end of 2016.
Partnership
SNV contributes to the Global Alliance's target of 100 million clean stoves in 2020 by implementation of biogas- and cookstoves programs in 27 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. We intend to contribute with innovative approaches and co-creation with other members. In cooperation with multiple stakeholders, we contribute to the development of country implementation plans of the Global Alliance, sometimes in a coordinating role. Action research, dissemination of research reports, knowledge development and exchange are also areas for collaboration, as well as contributions to the organisation and contents of GACC international events.
