Clean Cooking Activities

We have been working since June 2010 with a grassroots organization in Haiti called KONPAY to build the capacity of its programs - specifically its Alternative Charcoal and Clean Cook Stove Program - utilizing collaborative leadership.®

Knowing the challenges in the field both for introducing an alternative fuel source in Haiti and given the Haitian environment itself we have continued to help build the capacity of KONPAY's organization strategically through collaborative leadership utilizing our Innovative Haitian Solutions Committee (IHSC).®
It has helped bring experience to the field, advocacy, funding and had helped developed KONPAY's model from a "rocket stove" to a marketable Clean Cook Stove model with Alternative charcoal made out of recyclable waste such as coconut husks, and almond hulls.®

Collaborators we have brought in to assist with this program include; Fordham University GSS, Public Private Alliance Foundation (PPAF), Community Development International (CDi), Transparency for Haiti, Clinton Foundation, Canadian Red Cross.. to name a few.®

Partnership

Utilizing the alliance's platform for networking and information sharing we hope to help promote best practices in the field and to help refine implementation. We hope to share are continuous areas of growth in the field. We also always look for new partners.®
